Art Advice: How to create a gallery wall
Creating a gallery wall is about finding a balance between personality, colour and form. Here are some simple steps to help you along the way: 1. Start with your favorite designsChoose a few designs that you really like, they will become the foundation of your picture wall and act as key images from which to build out the rest of the collection. 2. Find a common threadTry to find something that connects the designs, it can be a colour, a style or a feeling. Designs that complement each other create harmony and make the whole gallery wall feel more more considered. 3. Highlight the coloursIf you want a certain colour to dominate, let it reappear in a few of the designs. This gives a unified impression without feeling monotonous. 4. Break up with contrastDare to add something unexpected! A contrasting color or a motif that stands out can give the wall more life and character. 5. Create balance in the compositionWhen building a larger wall of art, you can divide the designs into 2-4 categories. For example, nature art, abstract art or graphic prints. Spread the categories so that they balance each other visually. 6. Go with the flowMost importantly, choose art that you love and that reflects what you want to convey in the room. Do you want to create calm, energy or inspiration? Let the art tell the story.

Everything is Art: Created in the Stockholm Atelier
Enter the Stockholm Atelier, where boundaries dissolve and creativity takes on a life of its own. Everything is Art is a celebration of artistic freedom, an exploration of what happens when creators are given materials, space, time, and trust. Developed in collaboration with selected guest artists, the collection brings together original works alongside their art print and canvas counterparts. What emerges is not just a collection, but a living story of experimentation, craftsmanship, and the moments where ideas transform into art. Everything is Art marks a bold new chapter for Desenio. For the first time, original artworks take center stage and with them, a radically open brief. No constraints. No predefined direction. Just the question: what is art, when anything is possible? The result is a collection that feels alive with contrast and curiosity. Photography meets sculpture. Ceramics meet canvas. Texture, light, and form collide in unexpected ways, each piece a reflection of the artist’s instinct, skill, and imagination. Behind every work is a process that is as compelling as the final piece itself. In the Stockholm Atelier, ideas didn’t just evolve, they expanded, unraveled, and were formed again. The beauty of the unknown For many artists, the open brief was a challenge. Without boundaries, the question became not what should I create? But what do I truly want to explore? One photographer looked at art history and choose to reinterpret recurring motifs through a contemporary lens. “I enjoyed the chance to look back instead of forwards,” he shared, finding inspiration in style and symbolism from the past. For others, the process became tactile and immersive. The artist behind Oyster Tide experimented with the materials: “I discovered entirely new ways to create texture using shells, and paint.” And sometimes, freedom meant pure spontaneity. The creator of What came first? embraced instinct above all: “I literally used anything I could get my hands on,” she said, laughing. See art that artists love With fewer expectations, the artists found themselves creating pieces that felt deeply personal: pieces they would want to hang up at home. “I wanted to create something I’d hang in my own home,” said the photographer behind The Ridge. This artist’s contribution includes new photography as well as images from previous collections that were re-worked to feel right for Everything is Art. Nature is a recurring theme in Everything is Art. The artist behind Crimson Current was inspired by nature as a starting point, something that is clear in the bold abstract pieces she created for the collection. Inspiration from the daily commute Not all inspiration comes from nature. Sometimes, it strikes on the daily commute. For one digital artist, it was the typography of subway advertisements, fleeting, functional, yet visually striking. In You and Icon, these urban influences are reimagined, transformed into deliberate, expressive design. Everything is Art is more than a collection; it’s a snapshot of what happens when creativity is set free. Within the Stockholm Atelier, disciplines overlap, ideas spark, and craftsmanship is pushed to its limits. The Stockholm Atelier is at the heart of Desenio. It’s where our artists work side by side, creating work and turning inspiration from many aspects of life into art. The result is a collection that doesn’t just showcase the skills to be found in the studio, it reveals the craftsmanship, skill, talent and creative synergy that makes it happen.

Interview with Oliver Ingrosso - Baroma
Oliver Ingrosso is a well-known musician and restaurateur in Stockholm. In December 2025 he opened his second restaurant in the city, inspired by his Italian heritage, Baroma. The walls of the restaurant are decorated with selected designs from Desenio. Here, he talks to us about the process of choosing the artworks and how they contribute to the restaurant’s atmosphere and personality. Tell us about yourself and your route into the restaurant world. I grew up in restaurants, my dad opened his first when I was four years old, so food and restaurants have always been a big part of my life. To begin with, I chose my own path with music, and it wasn’t until near the end of the pandemic that the possibility to create Olli (Ingrosso’s first restaurant) came up. Food has always been an important part of my life, but that doesn’t mean that it’s the obvious thing to open my own restaurant. Then again, I had always had the dream. When the chance came along, I felt I couldn’t shy away from it. With a little knowledge you can get by and learn the rest along the way. Tell us more about the restaurant – the concept, the kitchen and when you opened. Do you have a favourite dish? Baroma is a Roman pizza and cocktail bar. That’s where the name comes from, bar for the cocktails and Roma because that’s where the food comes from. Roman pizza is thin and crispy, they call it scrocchiarella in Italian, which means crisp and that is how you sum up Roman pizza in one word. We opened on 25 December 2025 after a few delays. Picking my favourite is hard, since I made most of the menu myself – it’s a bit like choosing one of your children. That said, a margherita is always a margherita. Why was it important for you to work with art in the restaurant? For this project it was especially important to work with art. We wanted the restaurant to live and breathe in a way that is perhaps a little bit unusual, but with a strong, clear personality that is both playful, old and young at the same time. Art does a lot to contribute to that. Do you have any personal connection to any of the pieces? Some pieces I have strong personal connections to, others I just chose because they are beautiful or have the right energy. My mum played Pippi Longstocking throughout my whole childhood, so that has a very personal connection. The fact that she is eating pasta is even better! I loved Tom & Jerry as a kid and watched it all the time. My grandpa loved it too, even as an adult. There are also beach designs with orange parasols and sunbeds which remind me of the beach in Taranto where my family comes from. How did you pick the pieces? Choosing the art was all about diving into the assortment and looking for clues and designs that chimed with me and my upbringing. It was quite an intuitive process. How did you choose between prints and canvas? The choice was all to do with the individual artworks. Some designs work better on canvas and others quite simply work better as prints. Have the restaurants guests or staff responded to the art? The response has been very positive. The guests think the art is fun and thought-through, and that it creates a strong personality for the restaurant. The Pippi print has been really popular with guests, both taking photos and posing with it.
